Jonesboro Rolled Out The Red Carpet

Jonesboro closed Main Street for us on Monday night. By five o'clock the tables were out, the lights were up, music was playing and gravelers were walking the street looking for faces they hadn't seen since last year. They found them.

It started earlier than that, at packet pickup in The Forum, where the line moved slowly at times because nobody could get through it without stopping to hug somebody.

Some people came alone and didn't stay that way for long. Hearing that they already feel so welcome warmed everyone's hearts. This is exactly what we strive for.

By the time Meet Me on Main was in full swing, it was hard to tell who was riding and who lived here. Jonesboro folks and gravelers ended up at the same tables, trading stories about their favorite roads, and BBQ restaurants.

Thank you to the City of Jonesboro, to Delta Dirt Distillery, and to Gearhead Outfitters, who made the evening possible — and impossibly special.

Tomorrow morning, Arkansas State sends us off and we head for Wynne.

Day 0 was amazing, and they are only going to get better.
