The obvious answer and what most of the field rides. Nothing about this route demands anything exotic.
Perfectly rideable, and some people prefer it. You will spin out on the fast levee sections, which is a trade most are happy with.
Wider than you would run at home. Delta gravel is loose in places and there is chip seal and pavement mixed in, so comfort over five days matters more than rolling speed on any one of them.
The only thing that catches people out is range. Everything else about riding an e-bike here is unremarkable, which is the point.
Your bag travels by truck, so this is genuinely short. Everything here fits in jersey pockets and a small frame bag.
Minimum. Aid stations are twice a day and the days are long and exposed.
Even if you run tubeless. Two tubes is not excessive out here.
Plus a multi-tool and a quick link. Enough to get yourself moving again.
Load the route files before you travel — cell service is patchy in places and you want them offline.
For the head unit and your phone. Easy thing to leave in the bag that lives on the truck.
There is very little shade on days four and five. Sunscreen, and something for your arms if you burn.
Phat Tire are on the event and they are good, but five days is a lot to ask of a drivetrain you have been meaning to look at since spring. New chain, fresh sealant, brake pads checked, bolts torqued — do it two weeks out so you can ride it in.
