An Open Door in Birdeye
As the sun rose over Centennial Stadium in Jonesboro, to say there was nervous anticipation would be an understatement.

The ASU choir, mascots, and cheer squad were waiting at the stadium on Tuesday morning, and Jonesboro sent us out the right way. We couldn't be more grateful for their hospitality.
The first stop was Big O's BBQ and some truly amazing banana pudding. If you missed this, you really missed out.
The second stop was the Smith family's farm in Birdeye, where they opened their home to every rider on the route and showed us what hospitality looks like in the Delta.
Homemade chicken salad sandwiches to roasted sweet potatoes and unforgettable sweet tea! A perfect way to fuel and rest up before the final few dozen miles to the finish.
We ended at Village Creek State Park, and no one was too happy with the final climb ... but it was quickly forgotten with the incredible descent through the golf course (and custom made trail) to deliver everyone to the finish line, cow bells, cold beverages, and BBQ.
To everyone who shared in the viewings of Ridge To River, an award winning love letter to the state of Arkansas, thank you!
...and yes, Robert and Beverly are exactly as warm, welcoming, and lovely as they appear.
Rest well.
Tomorrow, Marianna.
